Behaviour mentor
Teaching Personnel are recruiting a behaviour mentor in a fully inclusive, aspirational, high achieving centre of excellence secondary school. Mentoring students with behaviour issues in KS3 and KS4, helping them achieve their academic goals.
Within this Behaviour mentor role you will be required to work within the inclusion unit supporting the learning and development of pupils who require additional support within their studies.
- Full time Behaviour Mentor - September 2019 start
- Supporting pupils aged 11-16 engage within classes
- Working with small groups of students and individuals who struggle to focus in classes
- Pay of up to £1300 per month
- Working hours 08:30-15:00
- Options to help with extra curriculum activities
- A team teach course is offered to the successful candidate
Due to a gap within this schools behaviour support department, this 11-16 secondary school located in Stockport have an opportunity for anyone looking for a rewarding behaviour support role from September 2019.
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant you will spend time delivering small group and individual sessions to pupils within the school inclusion unit, as well as support the transition back into full classes. This is a rewarding role where no day will be the same and you will have the opportunity to support in all curriculum and subject areas.
The school wish to appoint a behaviour mentor who;
- Is able to build strong relationships with pupils and help them achieve their academic goals
- Ideally has previous experience mentoring/supporting the learning of more challenging pupils in behaviour support units
- Has a good knowledge of the main core subjects
- Is able to commit to a full time position to help build a good relationship with the students
- Is resilient
The successful behaviour mentor will be working in a unit with the small group of students, which offers supervised social groups and a chill zone at break and lunch time. . It is located just minutes from the M60 motorway and is a short drive from Ashton - under- Lyne, making it easily accessible to get to from central Manchester.
