Behaviour focussed Learning Support Assistant required for an Ofsted rated 'good' primary school in the London Borough of Greenwich.
- Full time position available (08:30am - 15:30pm, Monday - Friday)
- Starting Monday 4th June 2018
- 2 week trial period to begin with
- £60 - £85 per day, dependent on experience
- You will be working within an alternative, specialist behaviour provision, which is separate from the main school
You will be providing 1:1 support for a boy in year 5, who has behavioural difficulties and has been excluded from a mainstream classroom. The class is comprised of just 6 students, and your role will involve supporting this particular child to complete the work set by the class teacher, which will follow the national curriculum. You must therefore have good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
You will be expected to encourage him to engage with his education and promote positive behaviour. You must be confident in using a range of behaviour management strategies, including the use of restraint techniques where necessary. Restraint training will be available if you have not had this before.
You must have a child only DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap.
