Behaviour Mentor opportunity in a Slough secondary school. Do you have a background in supporting children who are slightly disengaged with learning? Have you worked as a Behaviour or Youth Mentor, in an academic or sporting capacity?
If you are interested in working in a school and think you would suit a role as a Teaching Assistant working with pupils who display challenging behaviour this could be the perfect role for you.
Required to start immediately, a client school in Slough are looking to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to their support staff team on a full time basis.
You will be working closely with the Special Needs Co-ordinator, supporting pupils within the classroom and ensuring they stay switched on in class and focus with their work, most notably in English and Maths. The roles will be working full time; some of your responsibilities may include deescalating incidents of behaviour and reporting any issues to the Pastoral team.
The school is much larger than average and is best described as a culturally diverse school on a journey of improvement.
The positions are to start immediately on a full time basis for the foreseeable future, possibly until April 2019 at which point there would be a review in school.
To apply, you will ideally have suitable qualifications or a degree in a related subject and be considering a career in teaching or behaviour supporting. The school and SENCO would like to meet suitable candidates for a trial day, if you would like to apply please email a CV or covering letter to Georgina at the Thames Valley Secondary Branch now
