Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a welcoming and supportive Primary SEN School in Trafford. This full-time role is available for an immediate start and offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex communication needs.

The Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs.
• Assist with the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits, and enrichment activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.
• Accurately record pupil progress and communicate updates to the wider team.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar settings.
• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
