The Role

As a SEN Learning Mentor & Inclusion Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
• Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students
• Support emotional regulation and social development
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
• Encourage independence, engagement, and participation in lessons
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs
• Backgrounds in education, youth work, care, support work, sports coaching, psychology, or mentoring are highly desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
• Passion for inclusive education and pupil development
• Ability to build strong professional relationships
• Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
