Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking Behaviour Mentors to work with children who present with challenging behaviour between the ages of 12-16 in an Alternative Provision in the Bulwell area of Nottingham.

The provision caters for a range of abilities from functional skills and GCSE level. The provision believe that the safety of their pupils is paramount and use sports based activities to re-engage students with their education and try to stop the cycle of re-offending through clear boundaries.

The ideal candidate will posses the following qualities:-

  • Previous experience with working with SEN pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • The ability to diffuse challenging situations with students who present with challenging behaviour
  • Confidence to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to a team
  • Willing and confident to work with an open minded approach at all times
  • Be able to participate in any extra-curricular activities required

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
