We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to join our pastoral team from October 2025 to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a vital role within the school, supporting the academic progress, attendance, behaviour, and overall wellbeing of students in a specific year group.
Working closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies, you will ensure that every student is supported, challenged, and given the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily pastoral care and support for students in the designated year group

Monitor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour, intervening where necessary

Build strong relationships with students, acting as a trusted adult and advocate

Liaise effectively with parents/carers and external agencies
-
Support the organisation of year group events and assemblies
-
Work with the wider pastoral team to promote a positive school ethos and culture

Experience working with young people in an educational or youth support setting

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism

A proactive and solution-focused approach to student wellbeing and behaviour

A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
