Do you have experience working with students with challenging behaviour? Are you confident in a classroom?

Teaching personnel are currently recruiting for a behaviour support assistant to join the faculty in one of our schools in the Orrell area of Wigan.

This will be a September 2020 start with competitive pay of approximately, GBP65 - GBP75 per day. You will be supporting students who are at risk of exclusion and typically identified as challenging to ensure that they are able to make the required progress throughout the school year.

The role will require;

  • Previous experience working with challenging student/adults or a confidence to do so.
  • A valid DBS certificate or the ability to apply for one and register it to the update service.
  • A positive, confident and calm/understanding demeanour.

You will be required to work closely with various pupils that are at risk of exclusion or regularly refereed to the school’s inclusion centre. The students will be aged 11-16 and it will be your role to work closely with these students to promote positive behaviour patterns and encourage learning where possible.

This secondary school is larger than the average school in the area and currently caters 950 pupils. Most students that attend our client school come from a white British background.

Located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre this school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Golborne and Tyldesley via the M6 motorway. There are also direct transport links from Wigan town centre.
