Role: Behaviour mentor

School: All-Age Community Special School

Location: Bristol

Salary: £55-65 per day

Teaching Personnel is seeking a behaviour mentor to support students on a 1:1 basis in the Bristol area. You will also be supporting a teacher with small class sizes, engaging students who struggle within an educational setting.

You will be supporting the learning of students who display a range of complex needs including SEMH, learning difficulties, communication difficulties and autism. You will be working with vulnerable students who display challenging behaviour. This role is all about building relationships and trust with the students and being resilient and motivational when the student is having challenging outbursts.

You will need to be resilient, engaging, motivational and supportive in order to deal with this effectively as well as supporting independent learning. Any experience working with SEN is desired, however not essential.

The ideal candidate:

  • Support a students own bespoke educational plan
  • Maintain classroom ethos and a consistent approach to teaching and learning
  • Promote independent learning
  • Be resilient, enthusiastic and engaging
