Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Learning Support Assistants experienced in supporting students with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. There are various roles available to start after Half Term in a specialist provision based in Walbottle, Newcastle.

Ideally applicants will have a Team Teach qualification or be willing to complete the training. Experience working with children and young people with SEMH and Behaviour in either a school setting or alternative provision would be beneficial . Additional qualifications such as Moving & Handling are desired but not mandatory. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills such as Youth Workers or Support Workers as well as recent graduates.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people with SEMH
  • Team Teach Qualification
  • Moving & Handling or Personal Care
  • NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Supporting and Learning in Schools
  • Patient and nurturing manner
