If you are interested in leading the provision of 2 children at a very prestigious primary school based in Tower Hamlets then look no further. Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Year 3 Learning Support Assistant to work with 2 lovely boys who have Autism. This school is a great place to develop your Teaching Skills further and there will be lots of CPD courses internally & externally. The SENCO is so passionate about the care and provision of their children, but just as importantly- for you too. She is renowned for providing extensive training should you ever feel the need to take on extra support.

The Position

You will be supporting 2 friendly year 3 boys who are on the Autistic Spectrum and have Moderate Learning Difficulties. You will help to develop their motor and social skills, as well as their Reading and Writing skills working towards targets of progress throughout the year. Being creative, dynamic and bringing a breath of fresh air to their learning life are key aspects of keeping the pupils engaged with education. Building up communication skills and helping them form bonds with the rest of the class are equally as important.

The idea is that this role will continue for the foreseeable future. Hours will be 8:30-4pm Monday to Friday and it will be a long term contract continuing into the next academic year if successful. Pay will be between £70-£85 per day depending on experience.

To Be Successful

Candidates with the following are more likely to be shortlisted:

  • Psychology Degree or Childhood Related Qualification.
  • Background in a similar SEN role working with a pupil that has Autism.
  • Preferably experience working in another Independent school with high expectations.
