SEN Teaching Assistant - Early Years and Autism
Supporting Reception Boy with Autism (ASC) on a 1:1 basis - January start
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to improve communication and confidence
Due to the nature of the school, ethos and relationship with the local community, this above average sized primary school in the Eccles area of Salford, M30 are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in reception with Autism (ASC). The funding for this SEN Teaching Assistant hasn't been confirmed yet, however this reputable Salford Primary School in the Eccles area, pride themselves on supporting the local community and as a result, are putting measures in place to support a Reception aged boy from after Easter.
This Eccles based Primary School in the M30 postcode of Salford proudly serve the local community and as a result, have strengthened links locally. As an inner city Salford Primary School, all children come from the local area and the school pride themselves on being able to provide an education that caters for all needs and is very inclusive. As an SEN Teaching Assistant you would be welcomed with open arms into a family of teaching staff with fantastic facilities and an experienced and supportive senior leadership team. As a result, the transition into working at this Eccles based primary school would be very comfortable and smooth.
- Experience of Autism (ASC)
- Working on a 1:1 basis to focus on developing social skills and communication
- Using visual aids to help the child communicate
- Experience of PECS or visual timetables would be useful
- Varied communication strategies and techniques
- Experience of working with Autistic Children or young adults
If you have experience of working with children with autism (ASC) and have a working knowledge of working in a primary school within the Early Years or Key Stage 1 specifically, this would be the perfect role for you. Don't worry if you don't, as if you have experience of autism as per above, you would also be considered.
