Unqualified Nursery Assistant

Location: Gloucester | Full-Time | No Formal Qualifications Needed

Do you have experience caring for or supporting children through babysitting, volunteering, family responsibilities, holiday clubs, or youth groups, and want to take the next step into a rewarding early years role?

Teaching Personnel is looking for a Nursery Assistant to join a warm and friendly early years setting in Bristol. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has hands-on experience with children and is passionate about helping little ones learn, play, and grow.

You don’t need a childcare qualification… just the right attitude, some practical experience with children, and a genuine interest in early education!

⭐ What You’ll Be Doing

As an Unqualified Nursery Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting children aged 0–5 with their early development. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily routines, play activities, and meal/snack times
  • Engaging children in fun, creative, and age-appropriate play
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and communication skills
  • Helping to maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment
  • Working closely with staff to ensure every child feels supported and valued
  • Bringing energy, kindness, and a positive attitude to the nursery each day

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with young children
  • Is caring, reliable, and patient
  • Enjoys getting stuck into messy play, outdoor activities, and creative tasks
  • Can work well as part of a supportive team
  • Is eager to learn about early years education and child development
  • Is willing to obtain a DBS check (support available)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
