Additional Needs Teaching Assistant 

Hours: Tuesday – Friday | 8:50am – 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Contract: Long-term, Part-Time

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and proactive Additional Needs Teaching Assistant to support learners within a college setting within the Rawtenstall area.

This rewarding role involves working with learners who have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) in place, providing both classroom-based and community-based support. You will play a vital role in helping young adults develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need as they transition into adulthood.

The Role:

  • Supporting learners with additional needs in lessons and during community-based activities

  • Assisting with personalised learning programmes linked to EHCP outcomes

  • Promoting independence and life skills development

  • Supporting learners on their pathway to adulthood, citizenship, and employment

  • Encouraging positive engagement, confidence, and social development

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting learners or service users with additional needs

  • A patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

  • A commitment to promoting independence and inclusion

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience supporting service users/learners out in the community

  • Experience working with individuals aged 18+

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
