Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – College Setting
Location: Rawtenstall
Hours: Tuesday–Friday, 8:50am – 3:30pm

We are seeking a dedicated and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a college setting in Rawtenstall, supporting learners who all have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) in place.

This role focuses on supporting young people on a Pathway to Adulthood, Citizenship and Employment, helping them to develop independence, confidence, and essential life and work skills.

The Role:

  • Supporting learners with a range of special educational needs

  • Assisting with personalised EHCP targets

  • Promoting independence, life skills, and employability

  • Supporting learning in classroom and practical settings

  • Working closely with tutors, therapists, and support staff

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with SEN (college, sixth form, or school setting desirable)

  • Is patient, nurturing, and encouraging

  • Understands the importance of preparing learners for adulthood and employment

  • Can build positive, professional relationships with young people

  • Is reliable and committed to working Tuesday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
