Are you experienced in teaching and/or supporting children with autism?
Are you a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Teaching assistant, Learning Support Assistant Nursery looking for a stable job with career progression?
A special needs school based in Hammersmith and Fulham are looking for autism experienced teaching assistants for a 1:1 and small group leading roles starting in September. The role would be based within the school’s autism department and would entail leading lessons to small groups in Maths, English and core subjects. The school provides for secondary aged pupils with behavioural difficulties including the diagnosis of autism.
Requirements:
• Must be able to travel to White City (West London – Hammersmith & Fulham)
• Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8:30 am – to 4:00pm during school term time
• Experience working in a Special Need School is highly sought after
• Must have experience and/or interest in teaching and supporting children autism
• Must have knowledge of specific visual aids such as PECS, TEACCH, symbols and sensory resources highly beneficial
• Must be confident in leading sessions and supporting children with Maths, English and core subjects
• Knowledge of how to tailor lessons according to P Scales is highly beneficial but not essential
• Team Teach de-escalation training is beneficial (offered at a subsidised rate through Teaching Personnel)
Competitive rate ranging between £70 – 80 per day dependant on Special Needs experience and training!
A valid DBS with Child Only Workforce registered onto the update service is required in order to secure this job.
