Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant required in Derby City

A primary school in Derby City (DE22) are looking to appoint a full-time behaviour mentor to support a Year 3 pupil with Autism. They are looking for an experienced and strong TA to work 1:1 with the pupil who has highly challenging behaviour, to implement behaviour boundaries and to provide a good positive role model for the pupil. The position is to start as soon as possible on a termly temporary basis.

They are seeking some one who:

- Specialises in supporting pupils with Autism with recent 1:1 experience.

- Is confident in supporting highly challenging students to engage in mainstream education.

- Is pro-active and encourages participation in tasks and activities.

- Builds a good and positive relationship to increase pupil confidence & self-esteem.

- Is flexible to support within the class and confident to remove and support the pupil outside of class when required.
