Job description

Position: Cover Teacher

Location: NN3, Northampton

Are you a confident, enthusiastic, and ambitious individual who is looking for flexibility when it comes to work? If so, then this may be the job for you. An exciting opportunity for a cover teacher to join our team has become available in NN3, Northampton. This is a chance for you to gain experience in the education sector and help to guide the next generation towards their goals.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working with children.
  • Recent graduate and/or a qualified teacher.
  • Confidence in monitoring behaviour and controlling a classroom.
  • Full UK Drivers licence
  • 3-5 days a week availability (Monday-Friday)

Responsibilities

  • Confidently teaching pre-planned lessons left by absent teacher
  • • Ensuring that the classroom environment is safe, productive, tidy and harmonious in the absence of the class teacher
  • • Keeping pupils motivated to stay on task with any pre-set exercises that their teacher has set
  • • Showing pupils the right steps to complete a task
  • • Providing any materials or tools needed to complete a pre-prepared task
  • • Helping pupils to follow pre-prepared material in accordance with their school’s policy
  • • Working across different curriculum areas, including different subjects;
  • • Communicating with the absent teacher and forwarding the completed exercises to them.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
