Job description

Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant Required

  • A lovely SEN specialist school in Autism
  • High achieving pupils with low level behaviour challenges
  • A full-time role with opportunity to go permanent

This wonderfully cozy little school in Bristol seeks an Autism specialist LSA who can work with a high functioning pupil on the autistic spectrum. You will need to have ASC (Autism) experience with children before but if it's not in a classroom setting, this is fine. If you have supported a family member with autism or worked at a club for instance, this is a perfect opportunity to get into a classroom setting. You will be trained on PECS and Makaton which is a communication tool to work with children with autism. In return we want someone who is experienced with autism, understands the need for structure, consistency and above all, patience. The role is full-time and is to start immediately.
