ASC Teacher- full time- Tameside

Job description

The position is for a full time specialist ASC Teacher. Initially the role is temporary from September - December 2018, however there could be the opportunity for permanent dependent on the need of the Setting.

The Setting is a Secondary Special school located in the Tameside area. The School caters for 75 pupils with a wide range of needs including: complex learning difficulties and profound learning difficulties.

In its most school OFSTED inspection the Setting was graded as a outstanding with OFSTED commenting that the School were particularly outstanding in supporting pupil's social, emotional and personal development. In order to apply for this role you must be a Qualified Teacher and have a passion for supporting pupils with SEN.

The ideal Teacher will have experience in supporting pupils with SEN in some capacity; however this is not essential as this position could be ideal for a mainstream Teacher who is looking for the opportunity to gain experience within a special school.

In order to apply for this role the candidate must have:

  • Qualified Teacher status with a passion for supporting SEN
  • An understanding of P-levels and NCL
  • A clear understanding of differentiation and know how to adapt lessons according to the needs of pupils
