ASC Support – Teaching Assistant

Location: Huyton, Merseyside
Start Date: November 2025
Contract Type: Full Time, Temporary

Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a nurturing primary school in Huyton. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children who benefit from tailored support and understanding.

The Role:

As an ASC Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ASC.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a calm and engaging learning environment.
  • Support pupils with communication, sensory needs, and social interaction.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, parents, and external professionals.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with ASC or other SEND needs.
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Is patient, empathetic, and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.
