Experienced SEN Specialist

Location: Speke, Liverpool
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Full-Time

Contract: Temporary

Pay Rate: £13.75-£14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Speke, who are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team from November 2025.

This full-time, temporary position will involve working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.

The Role Includes:

  • Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support
  • Implementing effective strategies to support pupils with diverse needs
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and the pastoral team
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional and social development
  • Helping create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary setting
  • Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs and effective support strategies
  • Experience with one-to-one and small group interventions
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • An up-to-date DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
