SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Wavertree

Start Date: November 2025

Contract: Temporary

Hours: Full Time

Pay Rate: £13.75 to £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in the heart of Wavertree, Liverpool. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs in both 1:1 settings and small group interventions, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support plans, monitor progress, and foster a nurturing atmosphere that promotes independence and confidence.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language needs).
  • Is confident working 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Holds a relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
