Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large specialist school in Trafford who require Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils in KS1 and KS2. Pupils within the school have a range of learning, communication, multi-sensory and physical needs and a high number of students have Autism Spectrum Condition. The role will require you to support the Teacher with individual programmes for pupils specifically with severe ASC, along with assisting with daily activities within the school.
Learning Support Assistants must be comfortable and experienced working with learners who display extreme challenging behaviour through verbal and physical aggression. Due to the pupils needs, outbursts can be common. Learning Support Assistants work 1:1 with young people delivering individual education plans.
To work within this school you must have a passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs. You will also have ideally carried out physical intervention training, if not, Teaching Personnel can assist with this.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
