Art teaching vacancy in Preston!

Job description

Teaching Personnel wish to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner to join one of our secondary schools Creative Arts and Technology Faculty. The faculty is crucial to the fulfilment of the school's vision for the STEM subjects, and the successful applicant will work under the direction of the Second in Faculty/Lead Teacher of Art to implement an exciting vision for the future development of Computing, Art and Technology.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The person appointed will: 

- Be qualified to degree level in Art and hold a recognised teaching qualification 

- Have a clear and well articulated philosophy of education and the role of Art in a young person's development 

- Have a clear understanding of the STEM agenda

- Be an excellent classroom practitioner, with a proven track record of achieving consistently good outcomes for students of all ages, particularly in GCSE Art 

- Be willing to maintain and further develop the present commitment to both Art and STEM-related extra-curricular and enhancement activities 

- Committed to high standards and able to excite and motivate pupils

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
