Are you looking ahead to the new academic year when school will hopefully be reopened?

Are you therefore due to be available and keen to secure a full time teaching role in a supportive Art and Design department?

This relatively large secondary school situated on the east side of the Greater Manchester area of Tameside is looking for an Art teacher to join them on at the beginning of the new academic year in September. This is a full time Art teaching position which will include teaching fine art, photography and a selection of graphics/textiles classes as part of the timetable. The successful Art teacher is required to take on a vacant position for the duration of the 2020 - 2021 academic year in the first instance. As the appointed Art teacher you would be expected to take on all planning and marking responsibilities as well as contributing to the resources for this full time Art teaching position.

The successfully appointed Art teacher is required to work on a supply basis for the first term with the view to securing a school contract for the remaining 2 terms on a fixed contract in the first instance.

The Art department has fantastic facilities at this Tameside based secondary school with a fully equipped workshop as well as fully kitted specialist rooms for the entire department to utilise.

Highlights of this Art teaching position:

  • Full time Art teaching position for the duration of the 2020/2021 academic year
  • Pay will be in line with teacher’s pay-scale: MPS1 – MPS6
  • Applications encouraged from NQTs and teachers that are more experienced (no specific preference)
  • Teach Art including Fine Art, Photography, Textiles and Graphics at this well regarded and highly supportive secondary school
  • Located in the Tameside area situated in a pleasant residential area with fantastic transport links

This secondary school situated in the heart of Tameside is very well regarded and is consistently over subscribed year on year. The school prides itself on being the first choice for parents given its fantastic reputation and ensures each student is given the highest quality education possible. The school is relatively large with over 1100 students on roll. Considering this, staff at this school make an active effort to know students personally with the appointed Art teacher also being required to echo similar values. The school are looking for a lively, passionate Art teacher who can make a difference in this creative department.

The school is situated in the heart of Tameside, making it very easy to access via public transport and for those driving by car. The local train station is a short distance from the school as well as the local metrolink service. The school also has a large on site secure car park for the use of all staff.
