Darwen Primary School- Level 2 Teaching Assistant- SEN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

A large inner city Darwen Primary School have contacted Teaching Personnel in order to shortlist a TA2 or above qualified teaching assistant to work for a minimum of a term in a supporting role. The school, in Darwen have noted that they are willing to trial practitioners who are also qualified with appropriate academic degrees. It was also noted that the successful practitioner would be expected to introduce a range of behaviour strategies and support children with suspected ADHD and undiagnosed Autism. With this, the practitioner will be expected to liaise with the SENCO in school in order to work in line with EHCP’s and implement these accordingly.

The school is larger than average and has a number of children who attend from a range of challenging backgrounds. A nurturing and calm approach is required to settle the children especially in the younger year groups. The school are keen to interview and trial any prospective candidates as early as next week, and keen to make an appointment ready for the start of the Summer term. In a recent OFSTED inspection, the school was graded GOOD overall and received GOOD for its behaviour.

This is an excellent full time role which will continue until September and has the possibility of running through until September. The working hours will be 0845-1515 and there may be the opportunity to work over time/working through lunchtime.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
