Intervention Teaching Assistant needed to support Year 5 & 6 children

  • Have you had experience working in Key Stage 2?
  • Would you like to lead intervention sessions?
  • Have you helped prepare children for the Year 6 SATs?

A larger than average Primary school situated in Burnley has approached Teaching Personnel in order to fill a gap in staffing for September. They are hoping to find an enthusiastic individual who can offer additional support to year 5 and 6 pupils. The role is on a part time basis (Monday - Friday afternoons) to start after the summer holidays on the 3rd September 2019 and is until 17th July 2020. The main purpose to the role is to support the children in year 5 and 6 that require a boost in English and Maths. You would be leading small group intervention out of class, mainly in preparation for the SATs towards the end of the academic year. You would be given allocated time to plan the interventions and receive support from the class teacher with regards to the objectives/ subject coverage.

The school have stated there is a possibly of more hours to be added to the role with regards to welfare duty on a daily basis. This can be discussed with the Head Teacher and can be included depending on what you are looking for. The Head Teacher would like to meet suitable candidates for this role and would like to observe an intervention session of your choice with a group of year 5 children. The Head Teacher would like to appoint the successful candidate before the end of the academic year (23rd July) therefore if you are interested in this role please do not hesitate to get in touch. Job Type: Part time

Rate of pay: £9.50 - £11.50 per hour

Start date: 3nd September 2019

End date: 17th July 2020
