Teaching Personnel is working closely with specialist SEND schools across Brighton and Brighton & Hove, supporting both primary and secondary aged pupils with Autism and ADHD. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Friendly Support Mentor to join these inclusive and nurturing school communities.
The Role – Friendly Support Mentor
This is a highly rewarding role where you will work 1:1 with pupils, building strong, trusting relationships and providing consistent support throughout the school day. You will act as a reliable role model, helping students regulate emotions, engage with learning, and develop confidence both socially and academically.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with Autism and ADHD

Building meaningful, trusting relationships through patience and consistency

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

Helping pupils access lessons and structured activities
-
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
-
Have previous SEND experience (essential)
-
Be available for full-time work
-
Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Child Only Enhanced DBS
-
Be resilient, nurturing, and confident supporting pupils with additional needs
-
Be committed to being a strong, dependable role model

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
