Job description

Child Mentor – SEND Schools
Location: Brighton & Hove
Pay: £340–£360 per week
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday–Friday, Full Time)
DBS Requirement: Child Only Enhanced DBS

Teaching Personnel are working closely with SEND schools across the Brighton & Hove area and are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join us as Child Mentors.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support both primary and secondary aged pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and ADHD. You will play a vital role in helping pupils thrive both academically and emotionally within a structured school environment.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support

  • Use effective de-escalation techniques to manage behaviour positively

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Act as a positive role model within the classroom

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and learning development

We’re Looking For:

  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic individuals

  • Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)

  • Confidence supporting pupils with ASC & ADHD

  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday)

  • A Child Only Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
