Are you passionate about supporting children with complex needs and ready to make a lasting impact every single day?

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working in close partnership with a specialist SEND school in Brighton, supporting primary-aged pupils with PMLLD (Profound, Multiple Learning and Learning Difficulties). This nurturing and well-resourced school is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Child Mentor to join their team full-time.

The Role – SEND Child Mentor

As a SEND Child Mentor, you will work closely with primary-aged pupils with complex physical, medical, and learning needs. You will provide tailored support on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping pupils engage with sensory learning, communication activities, and personalised educational plans.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you will:

  • Support pupils with PMLLD to access learning in a meaningful and engaging way

  • Act as a strong, positive, and reliable role model

  • Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour

  • Assist with personal care where required

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you must:

  • Have previous SEND experience (essential)

  • Be available for full-time work

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Child Only Enhanced DBS

  • Be patient, resilient, and confident supporting children with complex needs

  • Be passionate about inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
