Are you an experienced SEND professional looking to make a meaningful difference every single day?

Teaching Personnel is working in close partnership with specialist SEND schools across Brighton and Brighton & Hove that cater for primary and secondary aged pupils with PMLD (Profound, Multiple Learning Difficulties). These nurturing and well-supported settings are currently seeking dedicated Behavioural Buddies to join their teams.

The Role – Behavioural Buddy

As a Behavioural Buddy, you will support pupils with complex learning and physical needs on both a 1:1 and small group basis. You will act as a strong, reliable role model, helping students access learning, regulate behaviour, and develop essential life skills in a safe and structured environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 and small group support to primary and secondary pupils with PMLD

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Supporting communication, engagement, and sensory-based learning activities

  • Assisting with personal care where required

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

To be considered, you must:

  • Have previous SEND experience (essential)

  • Be available for full-time work

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Child Only Enhanced DBS

  • Be patient, resilient, and confident supporting pupils with complex needs

  • Be a dependable and positive role model

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
