Behavioural Buddy
Job description
We are currently recruiting a full-time Behaviour Buddy to work across specialist and mainstream education settings in the Brighton & Hove area. This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident, outgoing and personable individual who is passionate about supporting young people with SEND and PMLD, and who can act as a strong, positive role model.
The Role

Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support to primary and secondary-aged pupils.

Support learners with a range of SEND needs, including PMLD, adapting strategies to suit individual abilities and communication styles.

Help pupils develop emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement with learning.

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may come from challenging or complex upbringings.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to implement behaviour and support plans.

Promote a calm, consistent and encouraging environment both in and out of the classroom.
The Ideal Candidate
-
Experience supporting both primary and secondary pupils.
-
Proven experience within SEND settings, including PMLD.

Confident, outgoing, relatable and likeable, with a natural ability to engage young people.

Able to act as a strong role model, demonstrating positive boundaries, resilience and empathy.

Comfortable supporting pupils with behavioural challenges, additional needs, or adverse life experiences.

Calm, patient and consistent, with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
