I am currently working with a 'Good' school located on the outskirts of Kingston. This is an oversubscribed one form entry school with a passion for promoting a love of learning and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The school received an 'Outstanding' grade in SIAMS and recent 'Good' grade in OFSTED. The school are looking to build on their strong foundations and develop excellence in their teaching and all-round provision.

The school are looking to appoint someone with energy, enthusiasm, experience and a creative approach to leading in order to ensure that the pupils continue to benefit from an increasingly exciting and enriched curriculum. Main Purpose of the job:

As Class Teacher:

  • Using and building on national curriculum plans in order to cover all areas creatively.
  • Monitoring the individual programmes and the progress of all pupils in the class.
  • Responding to assessments in ensuring provision for all pupils to make progress.
  • Reviewing classroom resources and spending class budget as required.
  • Liaising effectively with all stakeholders, including professionals and colleagues, in order to ensure maximum progress and attainment of all pupils in class.
  • Working as part of a team in whole school events.
  • Actively promoting school values and vision in everyday practice.
  • Following the school code of conduct.

As Maths/Science/PE Coordinator:

  • Passionately driving key subject area and ensuring that this is a strength in the school.
  • Assisting in the formation of school policy documents and to be responsible for the subject curriculum throughout the school.
  • Monitoring the progress of pupils across the school.
  • Responding to monitoring findings in providing support and resources to address needs
  • Advising on the ordering of appropriate teaching materials. Researching and ordering resources to inspire, excite and engage pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing staff in their teaching across the school.
  • Reporting to Governors and parents as required. Attending relevant courses, keeping abreast of current educational thinking and acquainting colleagues of such.
  • Contribute to SLT meetings in reporting on subject action planning
  • Liaising with the Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher on class planning and assessment and on pupil progress and attainment.
  • Undertaking other duties as may be expected
