Psychology graduate – Teaching assistant SEMH

Are you a recent Psychology graduate and are interested in working in a mainstream primary school?
Job purpose
To be a key member of a multidisciplinary team in the support of pupils, teachers and the school. To support the work of teachers and taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under the supervision of a teacher. Ensure the planning and delivering if of a high standard and is in line with the values and national curriculum. To support pupils in a 1:1 setting ensuring they are focused and on track with their individual learning plan.
Job Requirements
- Psychology degree or equivalent
- Previous childcare experience but not necessary
- Previous placement in Schools
-Highly organised and passionate about teaching
General
-To understand and apply school policies in relation to health, safety and welfare
-To respect confidentiality at all times
-To take an active part in the school’s appraisal process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager.
-To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace
-Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the School’s Equal Opportunities Policy
-To follow the school’s Safeguarding Procedures and contribute to the safety of all children in the school
