Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team after the May half term. The successful candidate will work closely with the Year 1 class teacher to support the academic and pastoral needs of our students. This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with young children and making a positive impact in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Year 1 class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across various subjects.
- Support individual students or small groups with their learning, providing guidance and encouragement as needed.
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and organization of classroom activities and resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Supervise students during class activities, breaks, and outings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with the assessment and tracking of students' progress, maintaining accurate records as required.
- Collaborate effectively with the class teacher, other teaching assistants, and school staff to meet the individual needs of students.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or queries.
- Uphold the school's values and policies, promoting positive behavior and contributing to a harmonious school community.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work.
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
