The School
This school is a specialised behaviour unit for KS3 students, who have been excluded from mainstream education and have SEMH needs. It is easily accessible via the m60 and have local train links for non-drivers.
At the school the students study core subjects and a range of vocational subjects including Food, Art and P.E.
The Role
Your role is based within the school, supporting the students within the classroom. The students may pose challenging behaviours which must be managed in a calm, respectful and understanding manner. You are expected to act as role model and mentor for these students as many have come from vulnerable environments and must be approached in a calculated manner.
It is imperative that the right person for this role is resilient in the face of volatile behaviour and be passionate and understanding about developing these students social and emotional well being.
Teaching Personnel pay the living wage, at an hourly rate of £9.50 per hour basic, paid through PAYE. Many of our roles are advertised on a supply/ temporary basis however we can also offer the opportunity for long term work and permanent roles.
For this role you must have:
- The ability to work between 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday, full or part time
- De-escalation or Team-Teach Training
- A knowledge of safeguarding
- An enhanced child only DBS on the update service (Teaching Personnel can assist in applying for this)
