Teacher of Computer Science / Computing - Stoke on Trent

Location: Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS (£33,000 - £50,000 per annum) depending on experience. ECTs are encouraged to apply.

About the Role

We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Stone, Staffordshire, to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Computer Science / Computing to join their successful department from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students in one of the fastest-growing subject areas, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Computer Science would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality Computer Science and Computing lessons.
  • Inspire students to develop problem-solving, programming and digital literacy skills.
  • Plan and assess engaging lessons that support outstanding student progress.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the Computing curriculum.
  • Play an active role in the wider school community and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
  • Has experience teaching Computer Science or Computing in a secondary school.
  • Has strong subject knowledge, including programming and computational thinking.
  • Is passionate about technology and preparing students for the digital world.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Salary

  • MPS/UPS: £32,916 - £51,048 per annum
  • Salary will be determined by experience and current pay scale.
  • Additional TLR may be available for candidates with relevant leadership experience.
