Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

I am currently supporting one of my partner Secondary Schools in finding a Teaching Assistant to work in one of their alternative learning provisions. The Cardiff School have been liaising closely over the past year and after he first few weeks of term have expressed that they will need a Teaching Assistant to start ideally ASAP. They have specified that the suitable TA is able to support with Key Stage 3& 4 pupils who access an education programme offsite from their mainstream school. This role will support learning for pupils who need support with emotional behaviour including their wellbeing & mental health. You will be asked to support with social wellbeing & behaviour management as well as supporting the curriculum and these extra provisions set by the school.

The role will be working with Key Stage 3&4 pupils aged 12-16 years old. In the past we have found that individuals from backgrounds of Schools, Psychology, Youth Work, Support Work or SEN have transferred into these roles excellently. The school closures were a time of unrest for the vulnerable pupils you will be supporting and the knock on affect is still clear to see as they are adusting back in to full timetabled lessons as the pupils have found it a struggle with the routine of school life.

At Teaching Personnel we offer competitive rates of pay with no agency fees and a supportive team of specialist consultants to support your application and ensure your introduction into the school goes smoothly.

Working as a Teaching Assistant in this role we would look for you to support the Teacher and the department while developing your skills in an education setting. This would be a perfect role for someone looking for a career in Teaching and wanting to gain classroom management skills prior to embarking on this career.
