An OFSTED rated 'Good' primary school located in Sidcup is currently looking for an NQT or FQT to join their team from September 2019 to teach a Year 4 class. The role will continue for the entire academic year with the likelihood of going permanent.

The School:

The school is two form entry and boasts a large team of support staff who aid teachers by leading smaller intervention groups (in English, Maths etc.). The school is passionate and committed to providing an excellent level of education to children with SEND - as such, there is a separate provision for children with SEN as well as learning mentors who provide emotional support and nurture for vulnerable children.

The school is well resourced it has its own swimming pool and large woodland area. Access to the woodland area is used to enrich KS2 learning specifically in science, geography, PE and English. There are three outstanding Forest School leaders who plan and lead the incredible learning experiences for students.

The school believes in every child's success and aims to ensure that each student develops high aspirations, self belief, respect, compassion and an understanding of their world and their community.

KS2 SAT results for 2018 revealed that in the following areas the school achieved above the national average:

  • Reading at the expected standard
  • Writing at the expected standard
  • Maths at the expected standard

The school achieved within the top 5% of schools in their Reading progress score, in the top 25% in their Writing progress and within the top 25% in their Maths progress score.

The Role:

The school are looking for a Year 4 class teacher to teach for the entire academic year. They are also looking to take someone on permanently.

What we are looking for:

  • An NQT or FQT looking for a full-time classroom based teaching role
  • Experience with planning
  • Inclusive practice to include all pupils
  • A teacher willing to inspire / with a genuine passion to shape the lives of the students that they teach
  • A teacher who can effectively monitor, assess, record and report on pupils' progress
  • An individual who can demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the current curriculum
