Excellent teaching opportunity from January in a GOOD school in Darwen

Experience required to work in a Y3 class with 30 children, 3 children with Special Educational Needs.

Newly, Recently and Fully Inducted Teachers are welcome to apply.

A School located near the centre of Darwen have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source a Year 3 class teacher to work from January to Easter in a full time position. The Head teacher approached the agency last week, specifying the quality of the teacher they are looking to appoint. She mentioned the school are expecting a visit from Ofsted in the Summer Term and so it is important that the applying candidates are experienced and committed to raising standards in school. The Head teacher also mentioned that, she would be keen to see applicants from Newly Qualified Teachers as she does have the provision and flexibility to support part NQT inductions. Having said this though, she does need to see applications from teachers who do have experience in lower KS2.

The school does serve a challenging catchment area where children arrive from socially deprived backgrounds and from families who aren't as supportive. The children arrive working below National age related levels and so the progress by the time the children leave is in line with age related expectations. Behaviour in school can be challenging and so the applying candidates will need to be firm and assertive in the classroom and be able to use a range of behaviour strategies to control and stimulate learning opportunities.

The Head teacher is reasonably new to the role as the Head of school and so she is keen to support any new starters to integrate well with the current team. She will ensure you are well inducted and given the relevant training and policies to follow successfully. The role will be to start from the 7th January and continue until the end of the academic year. There may also be the opportunity to continue into the new academic year by successfully taking up the position through advert.
