Job description

Teaching Assistant – SEMH / SEND (Full-Time, September Start)

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to further your career in education, psychology, or youth support?

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing experience while working in a supportive environment with students who have SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and trauma-related needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions

  • Support students with individual learning plans and EHCPs

  • Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH needs. This can be in a school, care or youth work setting. 

  • A strong interest in behaviour, mental health, or additional needs

  • Ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive at all times

  • A proactive and reflective approach to supporting learning

Full-time | September start

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
