We are currently looking to recruit TWO Learning Support Assistant/Behaviour Mentor to join a friendly and supportive team in one of our great mainstream Primary schools in Cardiff (Ely), to work one-to-one and with small groups, providing classroom based & extra curricular support to children with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.
The ideal candidate :

The school has recently received additional funding for two children in KS2 (Year 5 and Year 6) who need support with their school work, attention spam, social and emotional skills and managing their behaviour which sometimes can be challenging. Each of the pupil need a one-to-one who will build a bond with them, they need somebody who will act as a role model and gain their trust so can build up their confidence prior to integrating a secondary school.

We highly recommend for graduates who are willing to make a career in education to apply. - Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff
If you would like to apply for this position, please send your up-to-date CV along with a short cover statement.
Please note - if the above role isn't quite right for you BUT you would still like to engage in a position within the education sector, please be advised that we are currently recruiting for several roles to start ASAP, throughout South East and South West Wales, within all year groups from Nursery to Year 6. You can forward you CV or contact us via telephone for further information.
