Tutoring Roles - Northamptonshire

Whether you are still studying, working part-time, or seeking a new role outside of the classroom, tutoring through Teaching Personnel gives you the chance to work with vulnerable young people, providing 1-1 tuition at times that work for you.

Here at Teaching Personnel we are working closely with permanently excluded young people, children at risk of exclusion, students with SEN, and children attending school part time. We offer a flexible work/life balance, allowing you to take on as many or as few students at any given time, conducting your sessions at a time that suits you.

What will you be doing?

• Tutoring children of mixed ages, abilities and learning needs on a 1-1 basis in their home
• Tailoring your teaching style to the needs of the young person
• Encouraging children to overcome challenges & engage with their learning
• Planning and preparing lessons based on the child's abilities and progress
• Liaising with parents/carers/social workers/council staff and compiling feedback on your sessions

Important Information:

• Lessons predominantly take place at the home, but can also take place at libraries/youth centres/community centres, so you will be expected to travel.
• Tuition is available across Northamptonshire, so you will have your selection of referrals
• Tuition is often provided in 2 hourly sessions, twice a week

Key Requirements of our Tutors:

• Have excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with Parents/Carers/Social Workers/Education Officers
• Be a Fully Qualified Teacher or have an equivalent qualification (PGCE/NVQ/PTTLS/QTLS)
• Have experience in planning and preparing engaging and interactive lessons for young people
• Have an understanding of the national curriculum
• Teaching or tutoring experience is preferred
• You must have a passion and drive to help others learn and fulfil their potential
