Tutor

Teaching Personnel are looking for a tutor to work in the Gloucester area (GL1 postcode). The role will be working 1:1 with a Year 11 Looked After Child who does not currently have a school place due to her relocation to the area (she has moved back in with her birth parents recently but is still under the social care system).

We are looking for someone to work with this pupil for 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Ideally we are looking for 2 tutors who can job share this booking in order to ensure that she benefits from subject specialists to deliver English, Maths and Science. She also chose the subjects of Spanish, Business Studies, History and Health and Social Care so some experience in these subjects would be preferential. We can be flexible with the days and hours e.g. we could have one tutor doing every morning and one doing every afternoon, or one tutor doing 3 days and the other doing 2 days.

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

• Experienced tutoring in KS4 at GCSE Level
• Experienced working with Attachment Disorder and young people who have experienced trauma
• Confident to implement engaging and creative sessions to help build up confidence and self-esteem
• Able to manage challenging behaviour and confident to implement firm boundaries
• Experienced working with other educational/social carer professionals and carers
• Able to produce a weekly feedback form to monitor progress, behaviour and attendance
