Here at Teaching Personnel, we are currently looking for a Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our highly regarded Cambridge office. Based in the heart of Cambridge and working as part of a highly effective team, the successful applicant will have the responsibility of recruiting staff across the area to work in Secondary and SEN schools. Not only will you be part of a friendly and supportive team who will help to guide you along your career, you will also have the opportunity to make a real difference every day, playing a valuable role in making a difference in education and helping learners achieve their full potential. You will source talented teachers and learning support staff and match them with the right schools and roles available.

Our Cambridge team are high achieving and work collaboratively together to support their client schools and develop business with new clients across the region. An ambitious individual who is a great team player and target driven will fit well into the team.

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Genuine desire to make a sustainable career in recruitment
  • Experience or knowledge of the education sector
  • Previous work experience in sales, administration or face to face customer service
  • An outgoing personality and confidence to liaise with senior and key decision makers
  • Self-motivation and a commitment to on-going learning and individual development
  • The ability to adapt and work in a team to achieve your goals and targets

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant joining TP as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant will be required to acquire clients from an existing database, whilst supporting current using clients with their staffing needs. You will make planned sales calls, target schools in your chosen geographical patch and offer our service and quality candidates for temporary and permanent positions. Also, you will be responsible for building and developing your own candidate database to successfully service your given client schools. The ability to communicate effectively and be organised is essential to be successful running your own desk, as well as commitment to learning curriculum changes and updates to the education system. A background in sales would be advantageous; however, an understanding of the education sector is just as useful in this consultative role.

You will have the opportunity to demonstrate these skills and qualities through your application and then during our interview process should you be shortlisted. The interview process includes a telephone interview, first interview (conducted via video call), psychometric tests and a second interview should you be successful at the first stage.
