The school based in the heart of Southampton is looking for a teacher of maths to join them to cover a period of maternity leave from January 2020 or sooner if possible. The school is a large secondary school that offers excellent education provision for students aged 11-19. Ofsted recommend the school to be a ‘good’ school and say that “pupils behave well in lessons and around the school” and “Pupils work hard and make strong progress overall because leaders and teachers have high expectations of them”.
The school offers GCSE, AS and A2 Mathematics following the edexcell exam board. Outcomes have improved over the last few years because of the departments relentless to achieve high expectations and promote a love for the subject demonstrating its uses in every day life. The department is a large one, where staff consistently works in collaboration with one another, sharing resources and workload. They are a supportive team who strive to provide a world class mathematical education programme at all key stages.
The school are looking for a teacher who is innovative and has an all inclusive approach to their pedagogy. Ofsted praised the staff’s ability to differentiate effectively to ensure all students can reach their potential. You should have high expectations and be committed to lifelong learning.
The school can consider NQTs as well as more experienced practitioners. To be able to teach A Level is desirable, although not essential.
The successful candidate will require prior background checks including referencing and DBS checks.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
