Teaching Assistants Needed

Job description

In SEN schools, Teaching Assistants will be responsible for the support and well-being of a small group or just one individual student depending on their needs, which may range from ASC, SLD, PMLD or other.

Your main duty will be to assist them in the classroom, ensuring they are engaged, understanding and included in the activities. You will also help them manage their social and emotional needs, ensuring their behaviour is managed and they feel safe and supported in class company. You may also be required to give personal care, dispense medication and assist at break times however this depends on the school and students necessities.

Obviously some experience in these areas is preferable and any training is ideal however the right attitude towards the role is most important. It is essential to be kind, supportive, encouraging and non-judgemental.
