Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Then this could be the role for you!
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vivacious and hard-working staff. You will work with a student with physical disabilities, who will require support using their wheelchair/frame/hoists. There will be an element of personal care involved in this role, so prior experience is essential.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of working with SEN and will have outstanding inter-personal skills. You will need to be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children as well as being able to work effectively in a team. Experience of current phonics/Maths schemes will be advantageous, but not essential, as you will be supporting in core subject areas. We can offer additional training through our CPD Academy and will be running a Team Teach Course during the next school holiday. You will need to take into account children's learning styles and what motivates them to stay engaged, using positive behaviour management.
Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant would be;
- Moving and Handling trained
- experienced supporting children with physical disabilities
- be patient and sensitive
- be able to motivate children who are disengaged from their learning
- able to support in core curriculum areas
Teaching Personnel can offer you;
