Teaching assistant / tutor job - Hackney

We are seeking a confident teaching assistant to tutor 2 secondary students in Hackney for an alternative educational school which delivers individualised support for children with various special needs from Autism to behavioural needs.

The support for the 2 young people will be based off-site at their homes, libraries or other suitable public settings to deliver 1:1 sessions on Literacy, Numeracy and Science. The school also have 1:1 centres where students can use and learn on-site and access a range of facilities such as a sensory room and a music studio. This role at times can be challenging but persistence when working with a young person has incredibly rewarding results!

WE OFFER:

  • Daily rate of ÂŁ70-ÂŁ85 daily on PAYE scheme- no hidden fees
  • The opportunity to secure a permanent contract after 16 weeks

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience working with SEN or supported challenging students with behavioural needs
  • Would like to make a difference to the lives of young people who have had a difficult start
  • Must be available for an immediate start in the Hackney area - Hours 8.30-3.30pm during term time only
  • Hold a relevant Degree or equivalent

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • The ability to motivate and inspire students in their education
  • Qualities of being patient, highly motivated, dedicated and posses an energetic personality
  • A good knowledge of the KS3- KS4 national curriculum for core subjects
