Teaching Assistant required in Blackburn, Lancashire

Job description

Teaching Personnel works closely with a Blackburn School which caters specifically for pupils with SEN and challenging behaviours. The School are looking for a hard working, empathetic, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with pupils who have additional needs. The School is based in the Blackburn, Lancashire area and is easily accessible via public transport and there is ample on site parking.

The School is smaller than average and currently only caters for approximately 40 pupils, however, some of the pupils do display challenging behaviours so you may be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils at times. The School are looking for a candidate to work on a full time basis and you will be expected to trial in School on a voluntary basis initially so the Head Teacher can ascertain your suitability for the role.

The candidate must be experienced in working with children or adults with challenging behaviours and have an understanding about working with children who have special educational needs.

The successful candidate will benefit from:

- Negotiable pay rates £54 - 64 per day

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
